Florida Woman Charged with Attempted Murder After Shooting at Rihanna’s Estate

LAPD Identifies Florida Suspect as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz; Bail Set at $10.2M

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — A 35-year-old Florida woman was charged Tuesday with attempted murder and 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm following a daylight shooting at the residence of pop superstar Robyn “Rihanna” Fenty.

The suspect, identified as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz of Orlando, is currently being held on $10.22 million bail after allegedly discharging an AR-15-style rifle at the gated property on Sunday afternoon.

The Incident

At approximately 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2026, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the Beverly Crest neighborhood. Authorities state that Ortiz parked a white Tesla outside the mansion and fired approximately 10 rounds from the street.

LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell confirmed that 10 people were inside the home at the time of the attack. While police confirmed Rihanna was present, it has not been officially verified if her partner, A$AP Rocky, or their children were also in the building. No injuries were reported, though gunfire struck the property’s exterior gate and a parked Airstream trailer.

Apprehension and Evidence

Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene but was tracked by LAPD Air Support. Ortiz was apprehended without incident approximately 30 minutes later in a parking lot at the Sherman Oaks Galleria.

During a search of the vehicle, investigators recovered a semi-automatic rifle and several spent shell casings.

Investigative Findings

Detectives from the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division are currently scrutinizing Ortiz’s digital footprint. Preliminary reviews of social media accounts linked to the suspect revealed a history of erratic posts directed at the singer. In late February, Ortiz allegedly posted a video containing specific threats and unfounded accusations against Rihanna.

Legal Proceedings

In addition to attempted murder, the District Attorney’s office has charged Ortiz with shooting at an inhabited dwelling and an inhabited vehicle. Public records indicate that Ortiz, a licensed speech pathologist, has a prior legal history in Florida, including a 2023 arrest for domestic battery.

Representatives for Rihanna have not issued a formal statement, though the singer was reportedly seen departing Los Angeles via private jet on Monday.
