📊 Evidence Guidelines: What Makes an Actionable Lead?

Our investigative desk reviews every submission. To help us verify your story and prioritize it effectively, please ensure your tip meets our quality standards:

Primary Material over Opinions: We cannot launch investigations based on rumors, speculation, or second-hand commentary. We look for primary source materials — internal memos, unredacted reports, datasets, financial ledgers, policy drafts, emails, or clear photographic/video proof.

Establish a Clear Context: When uploading files, please include a concise text summary detailing a chronological timeline of events, the specific departments or agencies involved, and the full names and titles of key decision-makers.

Beware of Unique Watermarks: If you are leaking physical or digitized paper documents, be aware that some corporate printers embed invisible tracking codes. When possible, provide digital-first files or text transcriptions to protect your origin point.

🛡️ How We Protect You

The AWB News takes source protection seriously. We understand that sharing sensitive information requires courage, and we are fully committed to safeguarding your identity and the information you provide.

You may submit anonymously — no name, phone number, or identifying information is required. We will never disclose a source’s identity without their explicit consent.

🔒 Anonymous submissions accepted
🔒 Identity never disclosed
🔒 Sensitive info handled with discretion
🔒 No obligation to publish

🛡️ Operational Security: How to Protect Yourself

Before you share sensitive information, it is critical to evaluate your digital footprint. While The AWB News utilizes secure protocols to protect incoming data, source security is a shared responsibility. Please review this checklist before submitting:

Isolate Your Network & Hardware: Never submit a tip, download files, or visit this portal from a computer, phone, or Wi-Fi network managed by your employer, government agency, or institution. Use a personal device on a trusted, non-work network.

Sanitize Your Digital History: Access this page using your browser’s Incognito / Private Browsing mode. Once your submission is complete, close all windows and manually clear your browser’s history, cache, and cookies.

Consider Using Tor: For maximum anonymity, download and install the open-source Tor Browser (torproject.org) to mask your IP address and encrypt your traffic before accessing our portal.

Be Mindful of Local Footprints: Note that while our servers strip metadata from uploaded files, we cannot alter local network logs. If you recently downloaded documents from an internal network, accessing an investigative news site immediately after on the same device can create a digital correlation for internal investigators.

⚠️ Important — Please Read Before Submitting

The AWB News is an independent news organization with limited resources. This tip line is strictly for news submissions and is NOT intended for emergencies. If you or anyone is in immediate danger, please contact your local law enforcement or emergency services immediately.

By submitting a tip, you confirm that: (1) the information you are sharing was obtained legally; (2) you are not sharing classified national security information on behalf of any state actor; (3) no illegal or illicit material is being submitted.

The AWB News reserves the right to verify, edit, or decline to publish any submitted information at its sole editorial discretion. Submission does not guarantee publication.

All submissions are reviewed for editorial relevance, factual accuracy, and genuine public interest before any action is taken.

📌 Liability Realities — Brutal Honesty

Limits of Press Protection: While The AWB News will legally, ethically, and technologically exhaust all available measures to shield your confidentiality, our organization cannot protect you from internal corporate device audits, local device tracking, or forensic network logging executed by your employer.

No Legal Representation: Submitting a disclosure to our newsroom establishes a journalist-source relationship, which guarantees editorial confidentiality. However, it does not constitute legal representation, attorney-client privilege, or an offer of financial or legal asylum. Sources are encouraged to seek independent legal counsel if they believe their submission violates binding NDAs or employment statutes.

🔄 Establishing Secure Two-Way Communication

Investigative journalism is a collaborative process of verification. A “drop and run” submission rarely results in a published story. To help us verify your disclosure without compromising your identity, consider the following protocols:

The Secure Alias Strategy: If you wish to remain anonymous but are open to answering follow-up questions, do not use your personal phone number or standard email. Create a completely detached, anonymous email account via ProtonMail or a Signal account using a non-linked burner number solely dedicated to this disclosure.

The 72-Hour Check-In: If you choose to leave no contact information whatsoever, we advise you to check back securely via our alternative communication channels within 72 hours. If our desk requires vital clarification, we will post public, non-identifying status prompts through our designated secure nodes.

🚫 What This Portal Is Not For

To ensure our investigative team can prioritize urgent disclosures, please do not use this secure channel for:

Public Relations & Press Pitches: Standard media releases, corporate announcements, or op-ed pitches must be sent to our general newsroom desk, not this portal.

Customer Service Grievances: We do not investigate personal retail billing disputes, consumer service complaints, or individual contractual disagreements.

Ready to share what you know? Submit your tip securely to our newsroom.
